Gear Question

I had my stock 3.42's for about 40,000miles when the pinion nut came loose, there is no scratches or visible wear on the pinion, but i bought 4.10's. I was thinking of selling them, but i don't want to screw no one over. Are they ok to sell? also, i have to look when i get home, but i think the bearing is still pressed onto the pinion shaft. if it is, can you still get that off, or is it stuck for good?
Thanks in advance

Re: Gear Question

The pinion bearing comes off, you just need a bearing puller.

As far as whether those gears are good or not, did they make any noise or bind up when the pinion nut came loose? How did you find out that the nut came loose anyway? Did you discover that when you were installing the 4.10's (meaning that you were still driving around like that for awhile without knowing) or did you change the gears because you heard noise? If they got noisy, I wouldn't trust them to sell them to someone else, even if they "look" ok.
