gear brand choice

I am going to swap out 2.73's for 3.73's, but am not quite sure what brand to go with, if one is better than another. Price is really not an issue since a friend of mine is helping with the install. He recommended Strange gears, but I have seen good reviews on the motives. Since the reviews on this forum are pretty bad for Richmonds, I am staying away from those. I have also seen that Moser makes replacement gears as well. Which would you go with?

Since you are running a series 2 carrier than I would highly recommend going with a Strange Gear.

whats bad about richmonds? As long as you use the street gears and not the drag gears, they're great. They have a good whine to them, which i personally love. no complaints about them here. I have 4:10 Richmond street gears.

Thumbs up

Just be sure to install them properly. Alot of folks like to check the run out of the ring gear(You`d be surprised what gets passed quality control). I forgot what the max can be though. This would be a good time to do the axle bearings also. They are like 3 bucks. I use Motive gears, and I reccomend them or definatly GM stuff. But, if you`re using a series two carrier, you`re limited in options. I`d suggest picking up a fresh series 3 diff from SLP. $100 for a take off unit.
