I have a 1994 Z-28 convertible with a 5.7 and six speed trans. What was the stock rear gear ratio for this car? What would be a decent performance gear for the street without having to change the carrier. Would a 4.10 be overkill, the car is rarely driven except for in town and cruises.

 

stock is 3.42

with the double overdrive of the m6...4.10s are the only way to go.

assuming your "cruises" are not long highway...it won't affect your milage much.
