Flexplate to stay with 4l60e?

Got the defective tranny out of my red Z (in my sig) and am goin' in with the one from my white Z (also in my sig). I know the flexplate is balanced on these f-bodies and was wondering if I should swap the flexplate from my white Z as well with it's 4l60e? I am under the impression the flexplate is balanced to the crankshaft externally. The previous owner of my red Z marked the flexplate/tranny relationship (like I did on my white one) and was thinkin' of tryin' to put the weights in the same position without swapping the flexplates. The last thing I need is vibration or shuddering issues if the flexplate is balanced with the tranny instead of the crankshaft. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes LT1s are "external balance" on the rear BUT they are the same, it is not custom per engine and the flexplate has a dowel pin to the back of the crank so it can only be clocked one way. So I guess what I am saying is you are wildly overthinking and complicating this.

You might look into a "budget performance" flexplate, they really aren't that expensive rather than robbing parts off the other car unless the other one is a project that will need such parts replaced with performance pieces later anyway.

Yes, Dwayne you're probably right about over-analyzing this. When I looked at the flexplate in my white Z28 I found it cracked around the mounting bolt holes with pieces missing. I figured I better take your advice and get away from the stock flexplates. I have a Jegs High Performance flexplate coming via FedEx. Thanks for the reply.

Actually the stock flexplate works fine. My advise was more about not robbing Peter to pay Paul
