Filling up the trans fluid in a M6

Filling up the trans fluid in a M6

Can I just unscrew the fill plug, and pour the fluid down the shifter?

That's what I did Worked great for me (assuming you're talking about removing the shifter, not pouring the fluid into the shifter )

Unscrew the drain plug, I assume you mean. I've heard other folks talk about filling thru the shifter, but that seems like lots of extra work, to me, over filling thru the fil plug. But sure, it'll work...

I think he meant the fill plug, so he could make sure not to overfill it. Just remove your fill plug and pour fluid from the top until it starts running out. Only works if your car is level, though.
