Thumbs up ES tranny mount!

I installed the tranny mount today and what a wonderful thing it is. There isnt a great deal more vibration except off idle but I can live with it considering how good it feels now. I also installed ES motor mounts as well so that probably plays a big part in my success story. The mount raised the trans up a good inch at least. In fact it actually pulled up off the jack when I tightened the bolts down which scared me a little thinking the pinion angle was compromised. I can see where thered be some problems if a guy put one of these on with stock motor mounts b/c mine were severely worn causing the motor to sag a good inch.

Anyway.. I highly recommend ES motor mounts and tranny mount to anybody who wants a firmer, more positive feel. Before if id lift off the gas I could fell the tranny move around but now its rock solid. There is no bad vibration or extra noise(maybe even less noise) than before.

There are problems with only adding the trans mount. My trans mount failed, so I replaced with a new stock unit. However, the motor mounts were severely worn. I have a mechanical fan. The result: my fan got hungry and started to eat away at the fan shroud.
So I ended up having to get some new motor mounts to cure that problem.

What kind of headers are you going to install?
The reason I ask is if they are Pacsetter long tubes and y-pipe, you will likely run into a clearance problem between the y-pipe and floorboard on the drivers side if your running a Energy Suspension transmission mount.

turbo_Z is right about ES trans mount possibly compromising the pinion angle and causing other clearance problems since the ES trans mount is not the same dimemsion as the stock mount.

For proper clearance with my Pacesetter longtube header install I made a pair of 1/2" spacers for the crossmember seen HERE .

I wish I could say that. I do like the solid / strong feel but since I use my car much more as a daily driver than spending time at the track, the ES parts will need to come back out soon unless a new driveshaft solves the horrible vibration I get above 70 MPH, which it may. My car also has a motor vibe {in netral or on the road} around 2100 RPM that has been there since I bought it with 13k miles. The ES mounts and bushings amplify that vibe as well. Hopefully a new Fluiddamper, although the stock damper is in great shape visibly, will solve that also.

Re: ES tranny mount!

I have noticed today that 90 mph gives me a mild vibration but I rarely do 90... 70 is very smooth.

I have an ES Tranny mount and other than the slight vibration, I was very pleased with it. The vibration is not bad at all and it is something I can live with.

Ill be running Hooker long tubes, and for exhaust, Im taking to a friends shop and we're going to do true duals with an x-pipe.

You should be okay then as far as clearance.
