Electronic or hardware 4l60e problem

Gonna try to make this short.

Failed e-test due to 3 engine codes.

I ordered the parts (egr related) and when I was going to work I went WOT to pass someone. I'm sure I hit my rev limiter and than the car just had nothing, no power, no banging noise, it just cruised till I could pull over. I checked under the car for fluids or anything that might be broke and saw nothing.

I went to drive away and I had no movement unless I got the rpms real high and still only went a few feet. Reverse is the same.

Fluid looks good (to me) and there is no burnt smell. I was informed from another board that it could be my low/reverse clutch pack, but I'm thinking it could be electronic as my pcm was really screwed at the time.

The tranny was rebuilt 3 yrs ago with Vette servos and a TransGo Shift kit. I was harder on the stock tranny than this one, so I find it alittle hard to believe I fried the tranny.

It's a 95z and only mods are (other than the rebuild) Hooker shorties and 3" Flowmaster. LT4 Knock Module and a few minor alterations.

Thanks in advance, Allen

Re: Electronic or hardware 4l60e problem

From the time I made this post I have changed the parts that have cause my engine codes. I now have no codes showing, but I still have no use of the tranny.

I've talked with other people and due to no codes they believe I need to replace the converter.

I'm an old guy that believes, if I want to drive a fast toy, I have to fix it myself. I just know nothing about trannys. I can change the converter myself, but I don't want to do it IF something else could be wrong that I don't know what I'm looking for. Like could it be the shift kit, or the clutch packs?

Any help please, the sun is shining and I'm driving a car without T-Tops.
