Eaton G80 code posi

From what I have gathered the G80 eaton is the gov loc style posi. Am i correct? Im just wondering because im looking to freshen up my 10 bolt when I put gears in it. I read that the gov loc's break under heavy acceleration. Is this true as well? Any input would be great. Thanks

No govlocks in 4th gen F-bodies. Up thru 98 they had a clutch type Auburn posi. 99 and up have Torsen torque bias type.
The only exception are some SS and Firehawk cars that have specific SLP mods.

"G80" is simply the GM RPO code for a limited slip differential. It does not define the specific limited slip type being used.
