Is this driving style bad for the A4 transmission?
So, i decided to let my uncle try out my car. He's been a muscle car fan for years and he's never realy gotten to try driving a 4th gen camaro. So, taking that he's my uncle i had no problem with it. We just went down the block real quick. Here's the problem though. As he drove he started in 1st gear, then manually shifted to 2nd gear and left it in 2nd gear, while we were cruising around 50-55 km/h. As he approached a stop sign, he braked, stopped and threw it in 1st again. When he got above 55km/h he put it in drive. I heard that this isn't the best way to drive an automatic. Although, i do have to admit, the exhaust sounded awsome when the rpm's were slowely going down in second gear!!! I just throw it in overdrive and let it be. Any insight would be great.

yea not smart to manual shift a lot unless you have a manual valve body, theres not enough line pressure and will prematurely burn out the clutch packs
