drivetrain vibration HELP!

god this seems like a common problem with anyone doing mods to their car. ever since i put in my 383 crate engine, ive had terrible drivetrain problems. i have a terrible vibration, since it has started ive gone through 3 u joints and 2 driveshafts, and not to mention a pinion yoke. i thought it was a driveshaft not being balanced, but spinning the driveshaft this morning i heard a grinding noise in the axle housing. does this mean that the pinion depth was wrong after the pinion yoke was put on, or bad bearings, bent pinion??? i will mention that my torque arm broke away and fell off of the car about a month ago when i was on the road driving when i gave it some gas, and since that controls the pinion angle, i was certain the pinion was bent, but it seems i hear more and more things everyday as to what it could be!! can someone suggest some good advice?

Re: drivetrain vibration HELP!

Sounds like there is a very good possibility the pinion angle has been incorrect for quite a while.... to the extent that the excessive angle has caused vibtrations, fatigue and excessive wear on virtually every component of the drivretrain, including the torque arm.

Make sure the pan hard bar is not bent... Did you tow your car anywhere and strap it down by the bar? This happend to me and I have the SAME, and I mean the exact same problems you are having right now. I am going to install a Umi adj. TA soon, (it is in the mail) I hope that will fix it along with a new panhard rod.
