Drivetrain Upgrade Question

I was wondering if installing a new torque converter, shift kit, and aluminum drive shaft would put more power to the rear wheels. I know it will make my car quicker, but I am wondering if there will be less power loss through the drivetrain with these upgrades. For instance, will my car dyno higher hp and torque numbers afterwards?

Thanks

Re: Drivetrain Upgrade Question

The Mods you mentioned don't make HP, only the motor.
You might have some gain, but don't expect much.

Re: Drivetrain Upgrade Question

I know the mods I mentioned dont make horsepower, that is not what I was saying. I was wondering if there would be less of a horsepower loss through the drivetrain with these mods, resulting in more horsepower being put to the wheels. Therefore resulting in better dyno numbers.

Re: Drivetrain Upgrade Question

A loose converter will show a lose of horespower to the wheel due to slippage, it will still be quicker with it.

Agree, to a point. The converter has to be matched to the rpm range of the motor. If it's "too loose" it will go slower.
