hello, i'm swapping my rear end for a Strange 12 bolts and want to know if the stock driveshaft lenght will be ok or not ?

If i need a new driveshaft, what are the specs for it and where to buy one ?

Thanks

Stock drive shaft length is good for a Strange 12 bolt with a forged yoke. Billet yoke no.

I guess it depends. Sometimes it will work sometimes it won't; all depends on the car.

I ordered a new one from www.dennysdriveshaft.com when I put mine in.

i've written to dennys but havent got any answer.

I wonder if shipping overseas is frightening him.

I'm asking about the lenght because if i need a new driveshaft i want to order it right now to avoid having the car not running and waiting for an overseas shipping for a the new one

The only issue I see is with trying to order it before you have the axle installed and can make the measurements/check fit is going to be almost impossible. Our cars vary too much to guarantee anything.

I know my driveshaft was 3/4" longer than any driveshaft Denny had made for a 4th gen prior. (Denny's is local to me, about 15 mins from my house). He even had me measure it a few times because he couldn't believe that it was the length I measured.

I would say install it and see how the stocker fits and what the measurements are. I'd say anything else is a shot in the dark.

When I put the Strange 12 bolt into my 2000 Formula I used a stock length driveshaft with no problems.

Just make sure that when the DS u-joint is correctly seated in the pinion yoke, that you have at least 1/2" clearance before the DS bottoms out in the tranny tailshaft housing. Maybe even more with a big HP setup.
