driveshaft problems

alright so i bought a 2000 camaro rear end and i lost the u joins off the driveshaft...so i bought a new uv joint and i took the caps off that one and put it on the one i had..well it didnt fit almost at all...but i seemed to get it in there...well it broke and slammed onto the highway and beat it up...so how much is it to balance a drive shaft or am i better off gettin a new one

First mistake - replace the entire u-joint, don't just swap parts between them, EVER!

As for the driveshaft... Balancing should be $50 or so, but depending on what other damage happened to it, you may need to buy a new one. Find a driveline shop and take it in there, have them replace both u-joints properly, then balance it.
