Driveshaft issue

In my 93 V6 Camaro, over the past couple months, a noise has developed and I think it's the driveshaft knocking around. I took a look under there and noticed the joint in the middle of the shaft seems to have a bit of play in it. In these pictures, you can see the joint. In the first one, you can tell that the two parts of the shaft aren't sitting in a straight line. They hang a little in the middle. Is it normal for this joint to look this way? I'm not sure as I haven't really looked at anybody else's two piece driveshaft for a comparison. Yeah, I know the rubber bushing is shot all to hell...

So the question is: What do I need to replace and about how much am I looking at to fix it?

I think that carrier is shot.....the rest looks o.k. from what I can remember.

Will the regular shaft fit right in? I'm pretty sure it will. I would do that.....probly ocst less

How hard is it to replace a driveshaft? I've never done it before. Would I be better off letting somebody else do it?

i have 97 rs my drive shaft went out month ago for second i thought my trans was out. Until i took it to a mechanic. The 98 and up use drive shaft thats one peice which is of course alot better. Down side is i tried to install the one peice drive shaft but it was couple cm off would not fit in 4th gen camaros. Unless my front rear was messed up it didnt fit. You will be looking at about $100 for another drive shaft and installation is depending on who does it for you 50 and up. Trust me change it before it goes out cuz once it goes out its gonna cost you 100 dollars just to tow the car. Answer to your next question can you change it out yourself? You can but it will be extermly hard to get underneath the car and install it properly, save the headache and have a mechanic do it. let me know if you have any other questions
