I’m ordering a Moser 12-bolt with the 1350 pinion gear yoke for my 1997 LT with A4. I’ve been told the factory drive-shaft length is correct with this combination, but I though I would check and get some inputs here on the forum just to be sure. I’m having a custom 3 ½” aluminum drive-shaft build-up in advance of getting the Moser (to save install time once the Moser arrives) so I don’t have anything to measure now.

In our group of cars,
one car moser 12 needed shorter driveshaft than stock due to longer yoke and custom hardware for swaybar.
two cars strange 12 direct bolt in no mods to anything other than splice on ABS pickup that moser also needed.

Do not order driveshaft without diff in car unless you get driveshaft from same source as diff, at least if you have a problem with length at that point you won't be on your own.
