Doesnt always go into overdrive

Hello, I got a 97 Z auto, What do i need to check on my car that would keep the tranny from going into overdrive sometimes? I have the springs from a TransGo shift kit still installed and still have a little snap from 1st to 2nd, cuz i did have a 2800 stall, back to stock now. I have had the PCM reprogrammed and Pcmforless put my shift points up higher. When it does go into overdrive it has been set to kick in around 55mph. Somedays it goes right into overdrive, then some days it stays in fourth. Mostly it wont go right into it, any ideas what might be loose or unpluged? Thanks for any ideas. Dwayne

Re: Doesnt always go into overdrive

Try your transmission linkage. Here is a link to the page on Shoebox's webpage that shows you how to adjust it. http://shbox.com/trans/A4_trans_linkage.html Remember it's a very small amount of adjustment that makes the difference. Hope this helps .

Here is the link to copy and paste incase i coded it wrong earlier...I'm really tired. http://shbox.com/trans/A4_trans_linkage.html
