Does an '85Z28 700R4 bolt right up to say, a '94Trans Am w/4L60?

Just curious, as I have one of these already built, if my other post IRT transmission failure is what I fear. Thanks!
As far as I know, you'd have to do a few things.
First of all, your 94 has a 4L60E (electronically conrolled), not a plain 4L60, so you'd have to have some programming done to keep the PCM happy since after the swap it is not going to be controlling the shifts. You could probably ignore this if you want, but your SES light will be on all the time, which is something I'm not to fond of, since you'll never know if something really is wrong with the car.
You would also have to find a way to hook up a kick-down cable to your TB butterfly so that it will down shift when the stomp it. You'll notice that your 94 t/a doesn't have a kick down cable since it is controlled electronically. You should be able to take a look at the one on your 85 to figure out how to hook one to the 94...
Other than that, I can't see you having much trouble. They use the exact same torque converters and the bellhousing is practically identical for all intents and purposes...
Good luck with the swap if you decide to do it.

yeah, I was aware of the kickdown cable on the non-computer controlled 700, just thought I'd see if it is done or a normal swap.
Then again, I guess if folks are bolting in TH400's and 350's, why not a 700R4, but if I broke the 4L60, then I'm sure the warmed over 700 isn't gonna last very long either.
I guess I will probably invest in a better converter and rebuild, if it was race only, it would be a TH400.
Thanks guys.
