Do torque converters hurt mpg?

I was interested in getting a 2800 stall converter, how much would it hurt city gas mileage? I think that if its a good efficient one, it may actually help mileage but i always hear they hurt it.

Re: Do torque converters hurt mpg?

I did not notice a change for the better or the worse in MPG after installing my Stall.

With the Edge, you should not see a loss (in most cases), unless you drive aggresively, then any torque converter will see a loss.
