Do rebuilt transmissions have a "break-in" period?

So it seems my rebuilt transmission went out at 10,010 miles When i got it i never even thought of breaking it in. I would floor it daily lol. Anyways so it was 2 months out of warranty and the shop owner told me his tranny rebuilds last 80 to over 100k miles. he asked if i beated on it. i told him NO. haha. So their putting in one of their rebuilt 4l60s. ( are these vehicle specific???) Well I dont want to ask them if their is a breaking in period cuz then he will definatly expect abuse ! cuz im just a 19 year old lol. SO anyone with experiance.. whats a good recommended break in for these? I read somewhere on the interent 500 miles of regular driving any thoughts? thanks !

Are they putting in a 4l60 or a 4l60E, the 94's came with 4l60E's.
