Exclamation Do i need a clutch?

Ive got a 96 z28 that i bought about a year and a half ago. The kid i bought it from claims to have installed a centerforce clutch in it prior to selling it to me. When i first bought the car it was able to spin 1, 2 , and 3rd now when i punch it in first it doesnt even break the tires free. It seems to be very down on power. It also has a hesitation when i shift hard from 1st to 2nd anr 3rd to 4th. Please help your input is greatly appreciated?

Do the RPM's climb without and increase in speed? Put it in 4th or 5th at like 25mph and hit the gas. If the RPM's rises faster than the car accelerates, your clutch is slipping. From what you've said, it sounds more like a motor issue.
