hmm, not exactly what I wanted to hear. I hate new transmissions with "problems"
put my car in first, it starts out fine, put it in any other gear (on a hill mostly) and start out, it feels like it starts moving, then feels almost like a downshift, then it goes back up and runs fine. Then it definately shifts to 2nd.
Im going to have to have someone drive it I guess that knows stuff about the 4l60e.
thanks

According to my 2001 owners manual:
"If you have a 5.7L V8 engine and manually select SECOND (2) when you start the vehicle, the transmission will drive (and stay) in second gear. You may use this feature for reducing torque to the rear wheels when you are trying to start your vehicle from a stop on slippery road surfaces,..."
Seems to work that way for me-
