I just have the SPEC stage 3 carbon disk and a SLP PP. Its taken some abuse and is holding well. I will buy another when this one goes out. Its good for a daily driver.

the spec 3 is going in as I speak so I'll let you guys know how I feel about it....thanks for your opinions, it has made me feel more confident about putting the 3 in there and still enjoying to drive the car at half throttle, not just on the strip

The Spec 3 is a puck disk, the Spec 3+ is a full faced disk. I pucked disk will typically chatter more than a full face simply by design.

I have the Spec 3+ and so far it is a terrific setup. When I first installed it is was god awful grabby and nearly undrivable not to mention scary as hell. It was an on/off clutch for a short time due to newness but it smoothed out a great deal in about 20 miles or so.

I now have around 400 miles on it and it still chatters a tad but it is getting better and better. It requires a bit more finesse to drive than a stock clutch but you will get used to it. It has very good bite and does not slip nor does it want to be slipped. Excess or needless slipping of this clutch will probobly kill it quick.

The other thing about the 3+ is it does not have the springy marcels between the facings like a stock disk. The marcels in a stock disk are used to reduce chattering but they also reduce how well the disk grabs. With a NON marcel disk you don't have the large range of modulation between engagement and non engagement like a stock disk. The modulation range on the Spec 3+ is very tiny and takes some getting used to. The clutch disengages in mine when the pedal is pressed about 25% down, the remaining 75% of pedal travel is absolutely useless, this is due to the NON marcel disk again. A stock clutch will start to grab a tad nearly right off the floor. Just recently I built a clutch pedal stop to stop my pedal at about 40% or so which made driving it a whole lot better.

Cant speak to the Spec 3, never had one, but so far the 3+ is great.

WRD has soem good info on clutches there...

I dont think they had the stage 3+ when I got mine, I got mine awhile ago. I called Spec and told them about my car and what I have planned for it and they reccomended me the stage 3 carbon. I think mine has like 5 wings on it as its not a round clutch.

It will take a bit to get used to but I am sure you will like it. Be sure to post.
