Diff. b/t Spec Stage 3 and 3+

Just that i'm looking for a good street/strip clutch would like to hear feedback on some people that have SPEC and RAM

would like to stay within the 500 buck range is why the street twin is out

which one chatters badly and which one is an all around good clutch meaning driving on the street which is 90% of the time and then when i want it to bite hard i want it to be there if you know what i mean

The Thunderracing Rep said in there shop they highly recommend the stage 3+ for cars like mine but i would like to have some more opinons on it.
Thanks in advance

Does anyone know where i can find the hp ratings or torque ratings on the Spec or RAM clutches w/o calling them

Thanks in advance
Chris

I'd say get the RAM.

Spec's site has the differences between the two. I think RAM's site should have similar info.

I like My spec Clutch. It grabs hard so I can only imagine the S2 or S3. If its your daily driver then its going to get tiring. The chatter is in the high side but you never know. With the power that im sure your pushing there is no other option.

I have a stage 3 and it doesn't have any chatter unless I try to engage it while the cam is surging.

b/c that's the one i was going to order

man i know you get a thous. answers and opinions but one has to be better than the rest you'd think

i could'nt find spec or ram's home pages actually if you have them handy shoot the to me although i didn't look very hard for them b/c i figured they'd jsut talk about there clutch being the best...and the best info is on here i think from consumers

thanks

Well, you can look at their pages to compare THEIR clutches. Of course they're going to state why their's is the best.

Google is your friend

well guys i pulled this oold post out of my bin to see after the spec stage 3+ has been out a while longer......if well you have any experience with it in your cars now to give feedback on

a piece chipped off one of my stock pistons so my car has been setting for well forever and now in 2 wks. it goes in for a complete tear dwn. and it's getting forged internals and along with that the clutch swap soooo i'm needing to order something and still like the 3+ for some reason, i think b/c the extra power rating BUT they state it's eaiser than the 3 stage b/c it's a non puck design

give me some good and real camaroz28 buddies opinions and not the salesman's pitches

btw at this time i don't plan on spraying or forcing after the forging just for future in case type thing.....i want to stay N/A until I have to I'm ol' school a lil i guess.-thanks

The complaints about the 3+ was that it didn't last or hold as well as the original stage 3.

I know many guys running ported heads, large cammed LS1 engines that really like the Rams.

I personally went LS7, but I'm not sure thats an option for you.

I am running the stage 3 plus. I have about 7000 miles on mine and its still going strong. Smooth engagement once you are used to it and grabs hard. Rated to something like 800 ft lbs, but I don't have anything near that to test the claim.

If you don't buy it I want it.. I was going to buy a 300 dollar flywheel anyway. 250 sounds great.

I have had my spec stage 3 for a few years now, like 7 (car was down for a few years for issues but...) and I love it. It takes a bit to get used to as its either grabbing or not, not much slip to it. Its funny to see people try to drive my car if they are not used to it lol.

I just have the SPEC stage 3 carbon disk and a SLP PP. Its taken some abuse and is holding well. I will buy another when this one goes out. Its good for a daily driver.
