Deep transmission pan.

What tranny pans are you guys running? There are a few options out there for extra capacity pans from Trickflow, B&M, Summit has their out pan, Hughes and Derale. Just looking for a pan that will hold extra fluid and help keep the tranny cooler and not have any clearance issues. Derale has a kind of radiator design with cooling tubes that let air pass through the pan and they claim a 20-50º tranny temp drop.

The Derale pans are notorious for leaking around the cooling tubes.

Be careful with deep pans. Many of our customers end up removing them, after scraping alot of speed bumps.

The Summit pan is just as nice as the B&M, and it's a little cheaper. they're both aluminum options. The factory GM truck pan is deeper. We have several customers using them. the nice part about them is you can use a standard truck filter on them, instead of the adapter most other pans require. Check with your local dealer for a 2000ish Chevy truck pan.

How low do the deep pans hang compared to stock? I know right now my headers and torque arm crossmember are the lowest and I rarely scrap them.

When I was still running the auto I had a Summit brand deep pan. The bottom of the pan was flush with the bottom of my long tube header collectors which was about the lowest point on the car. Had to be really careful of speed bumps and drive ways with tall curbs because it was easy to rub the pan.

Yeah, I installed a Hughes +3 quart pan and its about level with my pacesetters which tuck up nicely for being longtubes. I'm going to have to be even more careful not to scrape.
