I went with CPT.
I've had a few lets say speed bumps, but overall I'm happy. Fank really went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.
Not to mention you can't beat his price.

You won't beat our price or reputation. you also won't find a better built / stronger 4L60E than we offer. We've been inside just about everyone elses builds. You'd be surprised at how many high dollar transmissions we see that are stock rebuilds with shift kits.
Even if you don't consider us, please pay attention to a few things. AVOID any builder using vacuum modulators in 4L60E's. Anyone who still is, is completely in the dark. We have redone a huge amount of units that have been previously built by other "big name" builders...some with as little as 500 miles on them, before cooking the 2-4 band and the 3-4 clutches. It also adds to the cost of having it rebuilt properly, later. A new EPC costs our customers an extra $40, when we have to take the vacuum modulator junk out. I love the customer response when they finally get a transmission back that shifts correctly (and lasts!)
If you buy a transmission with a "sleeved input drum", we have to charge the customer an extra $150 to build it correctly when we get it. This falls into a familiar category. We see many builder "fix" the things that never break, and ignore the things that do.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to sound conceited. I just know we build better transmissions than some costing twice as much as we charge. I also hate seeing my fellow F-Body owners waste money on junk rebuilds. Remember, I race 2 Camaros. I know what it's like to get a great value and, unfortunately, I know what it's like to get cheated.

This link will take you to our 4L60E "build sheet". http://www.geocities.com/cahallperfo...l60ebuild.html

We are not a supporting vendor here yet so I wont try to sell anyone on our products ,.I do agree with the above vac mods old school junk in our opinion.
Sleeves in the input drums unnesesary waste of time and money ,
These transmission the can be built to handle some very substantial power theres no doubt about it , And yes beware there are many people out there who sell crap out there and call it hi performance.
Read ,Learn, research and then some more then make and informed decisions
Definatly don't rely on a poll to make a choice.
Popularity today or tommorrow does not mean a good transmission many that have been well known and popular have fallen by the way side.
Talk to a vendors customers look at there feedback if available and after all that make a decision

CTP all the way. Mine held up to 1.5 60' times with no problem. I am taking it down to Frank in the next couple of weeks to have him upgrade the output shaft and check it over. My new motor should be making ~550 hp na and I will be leaning hard on the trans... I am confident it will hold up.

We're about ready to set the 4L60E world on fire. I just got off the phone with a customer that we did a 4L60E for 8 months ago, who has went 9.7 @ 144 MPH with his car The car is a supercharged/nitroused LS1 '99 Trans Am.

We'll have pictures up in our web site soon.

Thanks,
Frank

Hey I just got a phone call from Frank at CPT, and I wanted to let you and everyone know how good of a tranny this actually was. I got the Pro Race Tranny.....yea it was 1600.00 but it was well worth it after dealing with a local guy and going through 5 tranny's I finally found CPT. I got my stock 4l60 to a 10.9 and it finally took a ****. With Franks tranny I was going consistant 10.3 and pulling 1.4 60fts. I had my best ET ever which was a 9.7 @ 144.57 mph and a 1.39 60ft. And then the day after I was street racing a 2004 viper and blew a head gasket.

As far as my set up because I am sure most of you are wondering....

Jackson motorsport forged 347
P1SC @ 12psi w/SDCE 8 rib belt drive
Absolute stg 2 heads "which are for sale"
224/228 114+2 custom blower cam
Hooker LT, cut out
LS6 intake
Fully ported and polished TB
42lb injectors
CPT Pro Race Tranny
Vigilante 3800 blower/NOS verter
Ford 9inch w/4.11 gears
and last but not least a stand alone NOS system w/40 shot.

And this was all tuned by Chad Smith of Nitemare Motorsports!!!

So to sum it all up CPT's tranny's are the ****!!!!!

Frank at CPT did my transmssion. Now the transmission is the nicest thing in my car Frank was awesome to talk with on the phone, he kept in touch, explained every little detail, etc. To add to that, the cost and the value of his service was the best. He could charge way more than he does, but he doesn't because he is here to help fellow enthusiast's. I promise you, if you go with CPT, you'll be very impressed.

CPT, frank went the extra mile when we had shipping problems, he assured me it would hold up in my car, my car has stock heads nad bottom end with just a cam, but ive spun it to 7k, been 1.53 a few times and 125 shot all the way into 4th gear a few times...tranny has never once skipped a beat, shifts crisp every time like it did the say it was installed. id reccomend it to anyone, btw that was on a race rebuild, im now upgrading to a pro race and planing on 1.4x 60' and somewhere in the 9's at 145+ next year, frank assured me i shouldent have a problem, i know if i do hell take care of it!

Frank and Hodgesz28, great showing on what a 4l60e can do when built right...

Oh yeah, I like the pic of your car on Frank's site, but do you have any of it actually racing? either way, cool car...

I sent him 2 vid's of me racing, I didn't get the 9.7 on a video , but I did get the 11.0 and 10.9 pass on the vid......maybe he can host them up here or on his website.
