Lets say I had a 3000rpm stall is it bad to cruise below 3000rpm? or does the lock up take care of that at any Speed??

Re: cruising at a speed under your stall speed??

It causes no problem at all. I have a 3000rpm vig. converter and depending on speed and wether the converter is locked up or not I constantly cruise under 3000rpms. In town without it locked up going 35mph or so has me around 2k rpms, and problem free. At highway speeds once it locks up it brings the R's back down to a reasonable level. I have 3.42's out back so at 75mph I'm still under 3k and have no issues. That's essentially the reason for the lock up. To make having a stall in a street driven car managable.

Thanks for the info,
I thought that the lock up only engaged at 50+ mph from what some people say, so I wanted some opinions from people who are actually running the converters that I was asking them about.
