I would have to agree... If you really want to drive your car then just go get your transmission. Delaware is only a few hours away from you. And Mdacton is right, there has to be more than 1 competant 4L60E builder in the world. Performabuilt??? I have 1 of his transmissions in my truck and it shifts perfect. There was a problem when I received it and without even talking to me (he talked to my installer) he shipped out another transmission the same day. AND HE ANSWERED THE PHONE EVERY TIME I CALLED IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT!!! I'm sorry if you've got my deposit money then you damm well owe me an explanantion as to the status of my order or maybe you shouldn't be in business and that's not being harsh that's just reality. We all deal with death and sickness in the family and I hope things turn out well for his aunt but business is business.

http://cahallperformancetransmissions.com/ - $1400 for his "invincible" build
I give performabuilt credit though, they seem to have done a good job turning their reputation around, but $1200 is a LOT of money. Anyone who sends Frank their transmission needs to keep in mind he's just 1 person with a side business and the trade off for the much lower price may be turn around time.
If any of you guys can name another transmission builder that can match Frank for quality and price, by all means, speak up

I don't think you can name shop with a track tested rep that can build one for under $2,000

man there are shops everywhere... all the bracket racers and circle track have local trans people.... just ask around.
wait a few months? are you frikkin serious man? I took a motor out of a car yesterday and plan to reinstall it rebuilt within a week.... Months?
thats crazy..... you could have a whole tube chassis car build turn key within 90 days. and your willing to wait months for a trans?
I sent my conveter to ATI to get restalled on thursday and had it back monday and in the car monday night. I'm sorry, maybe I am just impatient but I am not willing to wait a long ammount of time for anything...after all I pay the money I want it back when I say so.......If you can't hang then I will deal with someone that can.

I've come right out and said that I don't know anyone else that can match him for price and quality. I've delt with other shops and I can assure you, Frank is the best/cheapest option in this area. Do you have any experience with shops in this area? If you know some good options, speak up

That's a matter of opinion. If you can afford an extra $1200 you can say that, but not everyone has that kinda money to toss around. Personally, I don't have a problem waiting a few months for that kinda savings.

find Vince Janis in Akron Ohio, he can do it for you and does an amazing job as well.
or century transmission in texas
open your eyes, look around, theres plenty of amazing builders out there that arent going to screw you over on price or shipping.
Theres an old saying
You get what you pay for
IIRC, 3rd place for brackets here is 300, so win 4 races at 3rd place, theres your 1200.....
so if you want to recover $1200 in 4 races in north carolina, you better win one of'em considering semifinals pays only $50 - $100.

For one thing, getting to the semi's is a real accomplishment in the higher purse races down here. Then you gotta consider our extremely top heavy purses. Though people typically split down to 4 cars, often times the semi's only include 3 cars and the buy car doesnt split

And all of them have transmissions.
thats gay, I do not split.
So now I'm afraid to say no

Mike,
Exactly what is up with you? Where in any of this post do you belong? The funny part is, you've got one of my transmissions in your car right now. Does the transmission you bought from me work? How many 10 second passes do you have on it?
Even after putting one of my transmissions in your car, after none you built worked, you still came on here and bashed me. You jumped in every thread about the time delay you could. Mike, how long did you wait on your transmission?
How many times did you call me to get the free tech information while trying to figure out the one you built? Would you say 5-6 phone calls or more? I spent alot of time trying to walk you through what the possibilities were, and advised you on what parts to use.
Then!...After getting a transmission from me (that works flawlessly), you bad mouth me in all the threads? Then (and this is my favorite part), you PM me about building 2 transmissions for your buddies. Yup, I never responded back. That PM was sent as a reply to one I sent to you. My PM simply asked why you were coming at me like that, after everything I had helped you with.
So, Mike,...what is your objective here? You drove from Virginia to get a transmission from me for a reason. Maybe because you knew what kind of stuff I build? The point is, it's in your car now, and working better than any you tried to build.
