Cost to replace rear end and brake lines

Hello all, looking at a 00 B4C with 132k, sellers states it needs brake lines and rear end. Worst case how much will this cost to do? I don't have the time to or no how do this myself. Any responses would be appreciated

You should be able to find a rear axle assembly in a junk yard, or even in our "parts for sale" forum... about $300. Installing it would run about $100-150 (2 hours of labor, max).

Brake lines depend on which lines your asking about, and whether the car has 3-channel ABS or 4-channel ABS + TCS. If its the hoses that connect from the body to the lines on the rear axle, plus the rubber hoses that connect to the caliper on each brake, you can get a set of braided SS lines for $120 (3-channel) to $145 (4-channel). Now you're probably talking about 2 - 3 hours of labor by the time they replace the hoses, bleed the lines.... $150 - 225.

Depends on the labor rates in your area.

If he's telling you it needs all new metal brake lines, its going to be way more expensive than that.
