1st off, i wouldnt pay more than 300-400 for the install. Make sure the Tech who will be installing the gears has done it numerous times, otherwise you'll end up with a noisy mess in the rear.

Motive gears are a good brand to go with

Check out www.thunderracing.com

They have a gear package for like 400, includes gears,Install kit, gear oil and TA rear end cover....otherwise just get the gears and master install kit.

Do not waist your money on the 10 bold, yes the 410 gear is awsome but then you will want slicks to hook up or drag radials and BOOOOM you end up with a exploded rear end. I did LOL

As of right now I don't plan on any slicks but I'm sure I'll one day. I am just looking more a faster way to get up into my power band and also I'm on a budget for the momnet and figured gears would be the best for now. A 12 bolt will be a must in the near future I am well aware of that one. Just need to save my milk money for that puppy!

Re: Cost for 4.10's + install?

I've just ordered my set up from summit, Richmond 4:10, Richmond install kit with all bearings, and the slp adaptor kit which you will need to put 4:10's in the SS due to the torsen locking diff. All together I paid $453.00. I will be installing them myself but you should figure on paying someone to do your install if you haven't done it before. Or if your feeling brave order the Richmond instructional video and give them a shot yourself. You can get cheaper part's than I did but I've always used Richmond gears on my stuff and have'nt had a problem.

Re: Cost for 4.10's + install?

I would not reccomend doing them yourself unless you have already done them before or have someone with you that has done them before. Since you're in covington, it's going to be a lot cheaper than other places. Call Ernie over at Ernie's Transmission in slidell and see if he can do them for you. If he can't or wants more than $350 or so, then call David over at Futral Motorsports, they'll take good care of you. Also, only buy Richmond gears if you really like gear whine. They are racing gears and aren't meant for the street. Stick with motive gears and the motive install kit, both of which the shop might be able to order for you, or you can get your own from Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge. Good luck.
