Corvette B&M Ripper + T-56 Trans Am

Corvette B&M Ripper + T-56 Trans Am
Although B&M does make a Ripper shifter specifically for the LT1 Firebird/Camaro, I have came across a good deal from a friend for a B&M Ripper for '97-'05 Corvette. The linkage appears to be the same between the two shifters with the only difference being the stick length. Will the Corvette Shifter install properly in a T-56 Trans Am?

Probably not. The C5 Corvette has a T56, but its not the same one used in the 4th Gen F-Body. Well... same internals, different case, different location. The Corvette trans is mounted in the rear, mated to the differential assembly. The shifter sits in the front mounted to the body, and is connected by a long rod running above the torque tube, to the tranny in the rear.

Just looking at the base plate in the pictures, you can tell there is a difference. Which means it would mount differently.
Although, I'm not one to always rely on pictures, but in this case, I would say NO.

Thanks for the info guys. Right now I've got the Hurst Short Throw but the height of the stick is a little too much for me so I'm hoping to swap out the stick with something that sits a little lower in the shift boot. Thinking about the T-56 Short stick from WS6 Store.
