which converter for my setup

Hi. I am in search of a converter. I was thinking a vig or yank. I pretty much just have all bolt ons right now (headers, intake, 3.23gears).I plan on doing heads/cam install in the future. I plan on running a big cam probably cc306. My questions is what converter do you guys reccommend and what stall speed should i go with for this setup? also would it be wise to invest in a shift kit and tranny cooler to go along with the converter? The car is a daily driver but is only driven about 50-75 miles a week.

I would say from 2800 at min to 3500max for daily driver. I run a 3200 vig that stalls out at 3500 on a daily driver. Get a big tranny cooler, and shift kit is up to you. I had the pcm flashed for harder shifts.

I have the yank sy 3500 with 3.23's and love. Daily driven, and its not too much at all. I was worried it would be. I plan on installing a crane 210/224 soon.

i have a 94 also. does this mean that 94's don't have problems with high stall converters? or is it just a matter of luck

On the subject of T/C I was thinking of running a 2800 stall and a mechanic told me I was nuts. I've got a 98 z28 with bolt ons. He said that I wouldn't beable to go anywhere till I brought the engine up to 2800rpm's and that would be my cruise rpm.

Now for me that means I would be doing 80 in 3rd If I wanted to use 3rd gear now am I stupid or is this guy really stupid? Cause I thought a higher stall just allowed you to hold the car at higher rpm's I mean I can hold my car on the line at 1800 but I can still drive it below that rpm.

I know that you give up some gas mileage with a higher stall. But not being able to go into third on the interstate cannot be correct. Please inform me of the correct information. Thanks

he is wrong. Normal city driving it is slightly higher than where stock rpms were. The 2800 stall means the rpm range will flash up to 2800rpm if there was no load on the car. The only way to do that is by using a trans brake. My car only flashes up between 2800 and 3000 rpm when I floor it, I have a 3500 stall. That's what you want, the strong part of the power band.

Once you're in overdrive on the highway it runs the same as stock (as I understand it).

I checked today. My rpms are at 1200 when I am at 25 mph, not 3500 or 2800.
