Converter making banging noises when it locks up

You can feel the converter making banging noises once it locks up at 45mph and it keeps making noise till 55mph.

Does it mostly after about an hour of driving.

Not loud banging. Just annoying.

What is it??

I should mention its a 3200 stall TCS.

could be loose stator clutch etc.. tci really sucks though. find somone who can rebuild a converter and have them cut it open. if you were in tx i could hook you up. i have a 3500 stall i gettin rid of right now. i also have a freind that builds converters and trans he may be willing to do something over the mail. pm me if you want to talk to him. his prices are pretty good. my 10" 3500 was $400. he has a billit unit he gets around $900 for.

Its actually a TCS unit. Its "supposed to be" really good. Some local 9 sec guys use it.

Yeah I know TCI is crap.

How much do you figure it would cost to fix a stator?
