My stall converter locks up in 3rd gear at WOT in my 94 Z but after having a discussion with one of the local tuners, found out that it doesn't do that with ls1s. Why? For the last year I've been using a 700r4 tranny because of the obd1 problems. Because I couldn't get lockup in 3rd, I think it may have costed me a couple mph. I've since switched back to a 4l60e and will find out soon if my theory is correct.
