Converter Lock Up at WOT???

I have been having problems with my car hitting a flat spot in the last 1/8 of the track and it losses alot of momentum. My converter is locking up right when I shift into 3rd. Could this be draining my top end power down? Thanks

You don't want it to lock as soon as it goes into 3rd. It's definitely killing it a lil'. Mine locks up at 90 and it starts haulin' ***. I'm gonna try bumping it down to mid 80s somewhere.

You control it through programming.

93LT1355, I bet you have a custom chip and the lockup point has been changed to a lower setting. I would ask your tuner to move it back where it was (typically 85 or so) if that's what you want.

For what it's worth, mine ran about 1 mph quicker with the converter locking up at 65. Both with 3.23 and 4.10s.

Yeah I might ask the tuner to change it. I'm not completely sure that is the problem with the car. I wanted to know if it was bad for it to lock up that early. I think the car is running a little lean and that might have something to do with it.
