Converter Lock ?'s

I recently ditched my crappy SLP 2800 to a VIG 2800 (world of difference!!), however some issues emerged. The VIG is considerably looser than the SLP, and my problems arise when cruising at 45-50 mph where the converter locks and RPMs dip to 1400-1600 rpms causing the car to stumble/lug. It feels like shifting into 6th at too low rpm on a M6 car. Part of the problem is that I still have 3.23 gears on a cammed (XE230/236) car. This is a 1993 car, and I have full access to tuning my own car. How can I prevent the car from locking at high gear at those speeds. Will doing so affect the life of the tranny?

Thanks

Make sure your t/v cable is adjusted properly and install a tranny cooler. I believe the lock-up speed can be changed in the tune. 2-3 mph may be all that's needed.

Update:

Changed lock-up speed on high gears to 48 mph (up 5 mph from factory setting), and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks
