converter fitment question

i have a quick question. my buddy has a 93 z28, and just went with a bigger stall in his vehicle. he originally had a 3k stall in there, and i can get it from him for cheap. it is a lock up converter, but my question is will it fit since i have a 96 TA, and his transmission is a 700r4, and mine a 4l60e ?? i have heard they will work then i have heard they wont. any help would be appreciated...

fitment

From what ive heard the 700r4 and 4l60e are the same. When you buy a part it says 4l60e/700r4.... Thats what I know.

Yes it will fit being its aftermarkey it should have the high carbon or kevlar lockup clutch , I would suggest that you have the tuning changed a little and have the TCC duty cycle set to MIN 90% and MAX %100 percent to prevent premature clutch wear with the smaller converter, The 93 worked in a simple on off format so this was not and issue.
