convert 4 channel moser 12 bolt to 3 channel car

I am looking to take a 4 channel Moser 12 bolt out of a 2000 car and put it in a 96 3 channel car. Has anyone ever done this or can point me in the direction of an answer? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you cant and still keep ABS. The 3-channel has a reluctor ring on the posi, while the 4-channel has rings on both axels. If you don't care about ABS, then you should be able to just split the single brake line going to the rear and run it to both wheels.

Does the Moser housing have the hole in the top for the 3-channel ABS sensor? If so, you could contact Moser and see what they offer in the way of a reluctor gear. If they have an "add-on" reluctor, they might be able to retrofit the carrier in the Moser. Not sure what the Moser ABS reluctor looks like, but the Strange ABS reluctor is actually machined into the diff carrier.

Another possibility, if that fails - in theory, you could bolt a toothed wheel matching the number of teeth on the stock reluctor gear, onto the pinion flange. Here's a reluctor wheel on a 9-inch pinion, with pickup. That particlular one it to get pinion RPM, to keep track of tranny slip, but the idea would be the same.
