Code 82 Solenoid A Fault

I finally figured out why the 94 Firebird i purchased two months ago only has 2 gears! Freescan provided me with DTC 82. Now my question is, will replacing this solenoid give me all four gears again? This is kinda of a relief because now i can push the eventual rebuild i figured i needed into the future, hopefully.

When my solenoid failed, the car went into "limp" mode - only had 2 gears and shifted very hard (max line pressure). It's a really easy fix, 20-25 bucks for the solenoid from the dealer. Just drop the pan and they are all right there.

I havent got it fixed just yet. This week is dedicated to getting rid of all the A/C garbage, and i think next week im dropping the pan and gonna change the filter and replace the solenoid. Unfortunately, i haven't yet run across anyone on the board that has replaced the solenoid, so i don't know if it will be that simple. I'll keep you posted.
