Time for a new clutch. I was wondering if any of you guys are using the McLeod clutch setup with the 7500 disc? Not the street twin. I am not willing to fork out 1000 dollars on a clutch.
But I need something that will hold. TIA

I have the mcleod disk with a SLP pressure plate. At first i had the regular street disk, but it came apart on me and mcleod let me upgrade to the performance 7500 disk for free. It grabs good, but i now have a problem with it not fully disengauging that i cannot figure out. I have replace the hydrolics and also changed the pivot point of the clutch fork so it will pull apart farther when i step on the clutch, but i still have it hang up sometimes. It got better when i did this but didnt go away. Its really annoying and wish i would have gotten the street disk again. I dont know if the performance one is thicker or what but its drving me nuts.
They do have good customer service though. I need to call them about this problem. Just havent had the time.

jchevy, i had a simailer problem when i put my centerforce in,they told me i need to torque the pp bolts down more,past the factory rating,they said it was the spring pressure and the thickess of the disk.i dont know it the same problem just a little info..
Well guys? Is that a good clutch? Right now my two choices are
-SPEC IV (don't know what material though)
-McLeod with the "7500 RPM Performance" disk
-NOT going with a sprung hug, spending 600 on a centerforce. Guys got any input?

i am wondering the same thing,i am going to put a new one in my z28 to looking at the mcleod too
1.never use a centerforce i have had nothing but bad luck.
2.whats wrong with a sprung hub.
3.can anybody tell me why some lt4 pp have round tb,some have a square tb.

Go with the SPEC Stage IV Ceramic. I have the Stage III ceramic and wow does it take alot of abuse! Never slips. Avoid the sprung hub at all costs, I'm on my 2nd stage III disc because of those damn springs
When I pull my tranny this spring the stage IV disc will be going in mine. Also, don't skimp out on the material. If your going with a IV stage, might aswell get the best material you can. I'm sure glad I did!
I had the LT4 in it and it is not a sprung hub. The sprung hubs seem to have a problem breaking ESP the SPEC III's and the SPEC IV are the same price. However I still want to know more about this McLeod clutch.

I think the only differences between the 3, kevlar, carbon, and ceramic is the HP level they hold and how much they chatter. I believe Kevlar and carbon are only rated to 650hp and the ceramic is rated to 700hp. I run the ceramic and there is no chatter after 500 miles or so. I currently have around 10,000miles on mine. Someone correct me if im wrong on the material.
