Re: clutch plate

i think you can get a hays one out of jeggs for like $80 probably better than stock but still smooth just get the exact specs on a stocker i dont remember them off the top of my head but they do have them.. they have the right specs but its not listed as a camaro/firebird clutch just a simple disk

Re: clutch plate

I have tried the Centerforce dual friction clutch - burned it up within 3K miles, even while following the break-in procedure. I went with a RAM Powergrip clutch, it was very grabby and chattered, not real good for the street. Then I finally went back to stock. What a difference! The stock clutch is the way to go on these cars. I found it on ebay, complete, for $200. This was 2 years ago though. Look for the Valeo brand, that is what came from the factory. Isn't the clutch disc by itself available from the dealer?

But then it should be mentioned that the aftermarket clutches were not installed by me, rather by some dealer who probably haphazardly slapped it together. I put the stock one in myself.
