Re: Clutch Package

I'd just take it and have it resurfaced. Thats what I did on my Camaro and truck this year and I haven't had any problems.

Re: Clutch Package

I had one. But, my '99 slave cylinder didn't like it. Took a dump on me at the 50K mile mark. The clutch itself held great, but I had a hard time shifting it because the slave cyl. wouldn't fully disengage the clutch at high rpms. I suspect it might have something to do with the weighted spring setup. My suggestion would be to go with Spec or Mcleod.

Re: Clutch Package

It's getting very good reviews over at ls1tech.com. For about half the price, I think I'll go with the new LS7 clutch/LS2 flywheel whenever it's time to replace my factory clutch. If it's good for the new 500 hp vette, should hold in my mostly stock 98.

Re: Clutch Package

well, the kit comes with the dual friction surface, aluminum flywheel, and upgraded hydrollics. but i am still leaning towards the mcleod...its only 100 more...and from what i have read...still the best.

Re: Clutch Package

the street twin is still a bit on the expensive side. if i just replaced the clutch with...say a centerforce or spec, and kept my stock flywheel...would that help with the softness after track runs? or do i really need the upgraded hydrolics or the mcleod MC. (note: if upgrading hydrolics...i would definatly do the drill mod as well.)

Re: Clutch Package

id go with a heavier flywheel than stock for launching at the drag strip, the lighter ones will rev quicker but you'll bog out of the hole. u need the increased inertia to launch more effectively. something like 28lbs is a good weight, i think the stock is 20lbs... correct me if i'm wrong here...
