Clutch Master and Slave Help!!!

I'm confused. I did some tranny work on my son's car. Bolted it all back together and noticed that the clutch wouldn't go all the way to the floor. So being the smart guy that I am, I push harder and it blows the end out of the slave and bends the clutch actuator pushrod. So I have another Z, (mine), that's in the garage getting a new motor, pull the master and slave, install it in the new car, bleed it by the manual, everything seems fine.

Anyways major PITA getting the replaced master in and tightened up after I've bled it and I figure I'll give it a test before in re-install the slave. This time the peddle wont even move. So being the very smart guy that I am I push really hard, and it does the same thing. Remember this is with a different master and slave. Is there something I don't understand about this. I sure hope so because this is going to get expensive in a hurry.

The master that I pulled off of my car was working fine when I tore it down. Please help

Had the same thing happen to me, but I only broke one. I know my placement in the Mensa society is imminent. Anyways, it turned out that I didn't have the clutch fork installed on the throw out bearing properly. It was crooked and only half way on.

I was thinking the same thing as the cause of the first one. The second one wasn't even installed on the transmission - it was laying on the ground underneath the car

In that case, I have no idea what the problem might be. Sorry.

Re: Clutch Master and Slave Help!!!

i believe you're not supposed to use the master cylinder with the slave disconnected for that reason
that mistake cost me 200 at the dealer

Yeah I read the bleeding instructions more carefully and I shouldn't have topped the fluid off until the slave was installed. I think basically I had more fluid in the cylinders than can be handled.
