Clutch isn't fully disengaging - need help
OK, so a month or so ago, I installed a McLeod Dual Performance clutch and pressure plate, along with new pilot bushing, etc. I followed the break-in procedure to a T and all seemed well. I didn't get a chance to really test it on the street, but sometimes it would grind between gears when I tried to shift fast at upper RPMs. Well now, its very hard to shift, and here's the kicker: I jacked up the rear of the car so both rear tires were in the air. I fired it up, and put it in gear with the clutch pedal pressed all the way in and the rear tires started spinning!
So WTF are my options now? I don't have air in my lines, BTW.

No, I didn't buy the adjustable master cylinder. I wish I would have, but you shouldn't have to with the clutch package I bought. From what I heard, it helps, but isn't necessary. Only with the Street Twin.
I have the same mcleod set up as you and I'm having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM !!
I feel a little better now nowing that I'm not the only one.
I guess I'll step up to the Adj Master and see what happens??
P.S also my car would hang up in gear when you came to a complete stop sometimes and then when you take off and shift in to 2nd gear it would shift fine??
I have 4,000 miles on mine and its getting worse by the day!!

have either of you guys checked to see if your slave cylinder is bad? Basically the same thing happend to me in my Eclipse (also a hydraulic clutch that wouldn't release) and the only way to disengage the clutch to 'pumped' it. for about a week I got really good at clutchless shifting
May or may not help you, but worth a shot

OK, well I tore the trans down again and pulled out the McLeod package. It looks like ****
A lot of friction material is gone, and there are hotspots on the pressure plate. I measured the clutch/pressure plate at work (I work at a transmissions place). It looks like everything is fine, so theoretically it should work. The only thing is the bearing load is higher than normal, so it might be that the stock hydraulics aren't powerful to push the setup.
firepheasent - so you replaced your hydraulics with new OE ones and you are still having the problem?? I was thinking about doing that, but i'm not going to waste my money if its not going to work. I'm kinda pissed because I didn't know I need the adj. master cylinder when I got the single disc clutch. I'm going to call McLeod and see what they have to say about it.

Yes I replaced them with New G.M Master/slave.
The T/o bearing tension for the plate should not be greater then stock since Valieo is the ONLY producer for Lt1/4 pressure plates due due patents!!
The reason I replaced mine is that the slave Blew out on me within 5 miles of driving on the new clutch set up. Let me know what Mcleod has to say sinice I need to get this fixed ASAP!
