clutch help needed

My clutch just went out and I'm trying to find another one and don't know if it is a 10 or 26 spline. Also would a Hays Street Performance clutch or a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch be a decent pick?

Re: clutch help needed

I just looked at a photo of a spare LT1 T56 that I used to own, and the input shaft definitely has more than 10 splines on it. Hard to count in the photo, it appears to be 26.

Just be sure you are looking at the unique "pull back" design required for the LT1. The Hays Street Performance LT1 clutch photo clearly shows the finer splines, indicating its a 26. But the Centerforce photo I saw showed a 10-spline clutch in the photo, but the text indicates its a 26-spline clutch. Photo must be generic. As long as you get a clutch that is specifically for the LT1, it's going to be a 26-spline unit.

Re: clutch help needed

I just nstalled my new clutch and it good but when I push the clutch pedal down all the way it starts a tapping feeling on the pedal. Ithink the clutch fork is hitting the clutch pressure plate. is there any way to adjust how far the pedal travels or the fork?

Re: clutch help needed

I just read through some posts that had the same problem and there solution was to grind the fork down to clear the pressure plate. Well I think another way to fix this problem is to space the release cylinder from the trans casing. it seems to work. but I would like to Know the rite way.
