Clutch disc swap?

I finally figured out how to shift with the blasted thing, but taking off from a stop is either chatter city or I'm spinning the tires. I have almost 2k on it now so I don't think it's going to get any better. I talked to SPEC's tech line and was told that that is normal operating procedure for this clutch, and any other type of performance clutch. Now I know that's a load of crap. Otherwise nobody would be running an A/M clutch in their car.

My question is: can I run another disc, such as an SLP or even an LT4 without having to change out the SPEC pressure plate? I really don't want to have to waste another $500 + if I don't have to, and I'll never be at the power level to need a Street Twin. Having said that, if the P/P is junk too I won't hesitate to scrap it for something normal. Thanks for the help.....

It has less than 2k miles on it and I followed their
recommended break in to a T. I don't think there's
wrong with it, it's just it's just a little more than I need.

I'll PM you once I get a disc figured out....
