Clutch chatters.... normal???

okay-been driving my 97 z28 for couple months now and it seems under certain occasions my clutch will "chatter" just as it engages i can feel it kinda chattering but not all the time.

after a long long drive it will do it or sometimes if cold or really hot.... is this normal or if not what could be causing it...

its getting annoying cause it will catch me offgaurd sometimes and when i go to let it out i will almost stall if i dont know its in that mood that day...

Re: Clutch chatters.... normal???

you need new clutch. i had that same problem and then i put a centerforce dual friction clutch and the problem is gone. but i heard that for these cars with the m6 the centerforce is not a good clutch. i heard the ZO6 ones are good.

Exclamation Re: Clutch chatters.... normal???

I had a new Spec 1 clutch installed with new Slave and Master cylinder and the Flywheel was resurfaced.

I have about 600 miles on it (300) stop and go miles.

I still get clutch chatter in 1St gear when I start out.

Is the clutch still breaking in ?

Any support greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
