Which clutch for a 600hp LT1?
Which clutch for a 600hp LT1?
Car is a 96' SS, driven approx. 100miles a week, will see alot more street time than track. Car is making 450-475rwhp on motor and will be spraying 150-200 wet. I'm thinking a spec stage 4 but was recommended a stage 3. I've also heard that the Mcleod twin is good but how much hp will I loose with the twin disc assy? Suggestions please.

No question that the Street Twin is BY FAR the best LT1 clutch out there. Only problem with it is cost. Get the aluminum flywheel if you are worried about a couple of hp lost to the rotating mass, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I have the ST with the aluminum flywheel. The aluminum flywheel helps offset the extra weight of a 2 disk setup plus an intermediate plate. It has great street manners.

I have a stage 4, although not a lot of power in front of it yet. I love it. Very easy to drive, no chatter at all. Dont even consider the spec stage 3. They have sprung hubs, and spec sprung hubs are weak.
