Clutch #4
Clutch #4
Clutch 1 - Stock, replaced with SPEC II for performance reasons only.
Clutch 2 - SPEC II, replaced with Stock at dealership due to blown pilot bushing that obliterated everything else.
Clutch 3- Stock, replaced with SPEC II for Supercharger reasons. Nothing originally wrong with SPEC, just felt that stock was too wimpy.
Clutch 4 - SPEC II replaced with stock clutch again. Pilot bushing worn, caused spring in clutch plate to blow out.
My problems were never the clutch, but the pilot bushing. WHen the dealer replaced my first bad episode, they put in a bearing. I recalled telling my mechanic to put a bearing in ...NOT A BUSHING. Did he listen to me? No. Now, 28,000 miles later, my pilot BUSHING went out and took the clutch too.
The new (STOCK) clutch is quite, shifts smooth and has no sounds. It was installed with a pilot BEARING.
Mechanics are idiots. They just have the tools that I don't.
