ok so i really dont know how to explain this so bare with me. the other night i was out driving around and well i accelerated pretty good, then this loud clunk or clicking noise started, I have a 6 speed car, mind that. the sound gets louder as the car is under a load, like 1200 rpm in 4th, just a tick tick tick tick, almost like everytime it spins its hitting something, well i didnt know where to start, so i replaced the u-joints, that didnt fix it, noise is behind the motor for sure, when clutch is pressed no noise, only noise when in gear moving, i already checked tranny mount thats still good, what should i check next, car still has very smooth shifts and clutch doesnt slip anymore than it used to, anything will be helpful

 

Im thinking a throwout bearing is going bad. Could be a clutch starting to come apart too. But, to be really sure Id have to hear it myself.

 

Might be worth a shot to check the torque arm mount as well.

 

yep i had the top torque arm bolt rip out recently but that was more of a bang than a tick

 

TOB's are noisy in our cars. My brand new one is already making sounds.
