Changing Clutch

Well I am changing my clutch and found that the most difficult part of this so far is the two top bolts on the bellhousing. What would be the best way to take them off. I am also going to take off the oil pan so I can clean it because its previous owner did not change the oil often and it's always very black. I am also going to straighten out a dent the oil pan has. I am considering an over-haul, but with a busy schedule I can't afford to lose the car. If anybody can help me with the bellhousing on tips on how to take those two top bolts off please help me out!!! Any suggestions that you all have please tell me. I would really like to know.

Long extensions and a "wobbler" socket (a socket with a U-joint) like this one: http://content.sears.com/data/produc...196000-190.jpg

there's 2 ways,

one is after you pull the crossmember and shifter, use a prybar or peice of wood to pry the trans toward the passanger side as you get your socket on it.

the other is to unbolt your exhaust, this will allow the motor to drop down way more!

as stated above you need a 3ft extension and a 14mm 6 sided socket with a universal joint, breaker bar and pipe if needed. lol

Sup guys, this is his brother in law, i've been the one under his car and I busted the hell out of my thumb using a swivel extension and trying the wobbler.

Im thinking maybe we can lift the engine front the front by the accessories with a jack and have the back of the engine point down about one more inch enough to get that top drive side bolt. If not, I suppose the exhaust is coming off.

I had to do both, pull the y pipe and lift the motor at the pulley to get the tranny out but that was with the bellhousing attached.

it takes some practice and a good swivel that doesn't drop the socket down all the time but it's a peice of cake once you do it once.

Yes, you really have to tilt the motor. Forgot to mention that.
